Social Activities
UU's love to have fun, on that we all agree. But what's fun for one, may not be for another. So, we offer many diverse social events throughout the church year... 2nd Sunday Potlucks, Dinners for Eight, Bookreaders, Game Nights, the Service Auction, occasional Flea Markets, I-Care Days and the Memorial Weekend Campout.

Last year our Service Auction raised more than $9,000 and this year, increased it to more than $10,400! The contributers had just as much fun as the recipients, maybe more. Last year's "Garden Party" auction winners enjoyed a perfect afternoon of conversation followed by dinner surrounded by flora and fauna. Contact
if you would like to bid on one of the available services or to attend one of the events that is open to additional bidders.
Dinners for Eight convene for good food and even better conversation several times a year. It's a great opportunity to get to know each other in a purely social atmosphere. Contact or to attend or host one of the next round of dinners. Bring a friend to the Book Sale! The book sales honor-library is always available with a long list of titles for all ages and interests. Check it out! |
The Holiday Bargain Shoppe fills the social hall December 5, 12 & 19, with a wide array of donated gift items at unbelievably moderate prices!
Game Nights are held about once a month on a Friday night. Board games are available or you are welcome to bring your own. Contact for the dates of upcoming Game Nights.
The Memorial Weekend Campout at Tinicum County Park features campfires, story-telling, and of course, "UU Happy Hours"!
Some of us braved the heat (and rain on Monday morning) at Tinicum County Park. Pictured below is the infamous Corona box that caused the rangers considerable concern. It really just held dishes. Our campers were joined each afternoon for happy hour by "daytrippers" who enlivened the conversation around the campfire. Others who were not pictured were D. Simpson and P. Evans and M.Piechota.
