Introducing:
The Rev. Larry W. Smith

The Reverend Larry W. SmithWe are pleased to welcome a consulting minister who has extensive experience in a variety of congregations. Rev. Smith’s web page (http://www.larrysmithuu.net) contains extensive biographical and professional information. I encourage you to read about our new minister there. You should check it out! Some highlights from his web page:

  • He has had continuing education in church growth, including coursework through the Alban Institute.
  • He led churches through transitions in their ministries. The last two congregations grew more than 15% during his ministry.
  • He facilitates reflecting, envisioning and planning for congregations in transition.
  • He was certified for training in interim ministry through the Interim Ministry Network of the UUA.
  • He is experienced in assisting congregations in transition to the Carver Model of Policy Governance.
  • He is trained in “Appreciative Inquiry” concepts.
  • He has worked with stewardship committees to improve the overall funding of a congregation’s ministry. In the past two congregations he served, the stewardship committees exceeded their original goals.
  • He enjoys working with people, new challenges and fellowship.
So, may we all enjoy the new challenges for friendship, good professional relationship and growth which lie before us.
